Wedding ~ Tudor Barn, Burnham

Mike & Emily's Barn wedding in Burnham, Berkshire

I met Mike & Emily back in January. They excitedly told me their plans for a relaxed wedding day, incorporating Emily's creativity and Mike's love of music. I couldn't wait to capture their big day for them...

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place at St Mary's Church in White Waltham, a pretty church with lovely large stained glass windows. Emily arrived with one of her Bridesmaids, both looking beautiful. There was a bit of an anxious wait when the rest of the Bridesmaids got lost on their way to the church, but all was well once they arrived and the ceremony could proceed.

The Reception

The reception took place at Tudor Barn in Burnham, a lovely barn venue with 6 acres of stunning private grounds. There were lots of cute decorative details added throughout the barn, provided by Emily. The creative Bride made the wedding cake, with help from her Chief Bridesmaid Amanda (on the night before the wedding!). All of these details helped to create a beautiful space to celebrate their special day.

The Car

Mike was responsible for arranging the wedding car, a convertible Mercedes E220d from Sixt. They looked super cool arriving with the top down, enjoying the sunny weather that stayed with us for most of the day.

The Girls

Emily had five fabulous Bridesmaids, all dressed in lilac. They were a great group of girls, all full of smiles and clearly over the moon for the happy couple. The bouquets were made up of lisianthus, lavender and gypsophila which tied in beautifully with the dresses from Dorothy Perkins.

The Boys

Mike had two Best Men alongside him on the day. They both delivered speeches, as well as Mike and the Father of the Bride, entertaining the guests after their three course wedding breakfast.

The Couple

After dinner we snuck off for some couples shots, making full use of the gorgeous grounds surrounding the barn. As we had previously held their engagement shoot at the venue we knew where the best spots were, meaning that the newlyweds were soon able to re-join their guests and continue with the celebrations.

The evening kicked off with the couple's first dance as Mr & Mrs. They danced to 'Have I told you lately', being joined on the dance floor by their family and friends. The live band, who were friends of the Groom, continued to play throughout the evening.

Congratulations again guys, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special day.
